Restless was started to keep friends and family in the fight, so I am honored to have you here too.
Below is my best attempt to distill the science of Restless in a simple way that simplifies countless research articles. If you ever have any more questions, feel free to shoot us a message through the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

The problem we built Restless to solve
Most energy products give you a spike and a crash. That's fine if you just need energy for a single activity. It's not fine when you're on a long shift, a hard training block, or a day you can't afford to check out halfway through. That's who Restless is built for: people who can't afford to crash.
Every ingredient in the formula has one job: help your body sustain output, not just spike it.
The core mechanism: 2:1 L-theanine to caffeine
Every serving has 240mg of L-theanine and 120mg of caffeine from green tea. That's a 2:1 ratio, and it's the most studied combination for staying sharp without the jitters.
Caffeine blocks adenosine, the chemical that builds up in your brain and makes you feel tired. Less adenosine signaling, more alertness. But caffeine alone also brings jitters, anxiety, and a hard crash when it wears off. L-theanine is an amino acid found in tea leaves. It doesn't cancel caffeine out. It smooths it out, keeping the alertness while taking the edge off.
Caffeine is also vasoconstrictive, meaning it tightens your blood vessels, and that's part of why it can leave you feeling wired and tense. L-theanine counters that vasoconstriction, keeping oxygen flow where it needs to be while the caffeine keeps you sharp.[1]
The research backs this up. A 2010 study found that this combination improved focus and accuracy on attention tests, and reduced tiredness, compared to caffeine alone.[2] Later studies, including a 2025 trial on sleep-deprived adults, found the same thing: better sustained attention and faster reaction time, without the jittery overshoot.[3],[4]
That's what "jitter-free energy" means on the bag. It's not about less caffeine. It's about caffeine that works better because of what's paired with it.
At 120mg of caffeine a serving, most people can take Restless into the afternoon without it messing with sleep. If you're caffeine sensitive, treat it the same way you'd treat an afternoon coffee: keep it earlier in the day.
Blood flow: REDNITE beet juice powder
Every serving includes 3g of REDNITE beet juice powder, a fresh beetroot concentrate.[5] Your body converts the nitrate in beets into nitric oxide, which triggers vasodilation, more blood flow, more oxygen and nutrients to your muscles.
REDNITE has been studied on its own, not just as a stand-in for beets in general. Researchers at Ohio State University tested it in resistance-trained athletes doing heavy lifting. The nitrate-rich group needed fewer nerve signals to keep their muscles firing, meaning better neuromuscular efficiency and delayed fatigue.[6]
That's the mechanism behind the blood flow and stamina support you get from Restless. Beets also bring antioxidant support to the formula, on top of the circulation benefit.
If you're taking Restless ahead of a workout, run, or anything physical, give it 90 minutes to an hour beforehand so the nitrates have time to kick in. Once you've been using it consistently for a few weeks, that timing matters less.
Rhodiola rosea: built for stress-driven fatigue
Restless includes 100mg of Rhodiola rosea, an adaptogen studied for helping people push through mental fatigue during high-stress stretches. In one of the most relevant studies, students under exam-week stress took Rhodiola and showed real improvements in mental fatigue and coordination compared to a placebo group.[7]
Rhodiola is one of the reasons Restless is built for sustained focus, not just a quick jolt.
Magnesium: the mineral most people are short on
Restless includes 300mg of elemental magnesium: 200mg from magnesium bisglycinate, a highly absorbable, easy-on-your-stomach form, plus another 100mg from magnesium phosphate. That combined 300mg lands right in the range used in the strongest human research. One clinical trial gave adults with high stress levels 300mg of magnesium daily for 8 weeks and found real improvements in stress and mood, most of it within the first month.[8]
Magnesium plays a role in hundreds of processes in your body, including how your nervous system handles stress. We chose bisglycinate for the majority of that dose specifically because it's well absorbed and easy on your stomach.
Ginger, fiber, and the rest of the formula
Restless also includes ginger root extract for digestive comfort, and blue agave inulin as a prebiotic fiber source to support gut health. Rounding out the formula is a full electrolyte panel for hydration, plus a complete vitamin and mineral panel including Vitamin K2, which supports your body over the long run, not just in the moment you drink it.
Why Restless is a once-a-day formula
One serving a day is the serving size, and that's by design, not an arbitrary cap. Your body can only absorb so much of certain ingredients, like the nitrates in beets or the D3 and K2, in one sitting. Take more than one scoop in a day and you're not getting more out of the formula, your body just can't absorb everything on top of what the first scoop already delivered. Stick to one a day and you get the most out of every ingredient in it.
Why we're telling you all of this
Most companies in this category lead with the feeling, not the formula. We'd rather you know exactly what's in the bag and why. No proprietary blends hiding weak doses. No single miracle ingredient carrying the whole thing. Just a stack of ingredients, each doing a specific job, backed by research.
It's also why Restless is Informed Sport Certified, screened against more than 250 banned substances. If you're active duty, a veteran, a first responder, or anyone who can't risk what's in their system, that certification means something. It's third-party proof, not just a claim on a bag.
The bottom line
Restless gives your body real support for sustained energy, focus, and recovery. Nothing hidden, nothing maxed out at the expense of everything else working together. Just ingredients doing their job.
